What we do with your data.

The short version
FinePrint is free, anonymous, and stateless. Your contract is processed and discarded — we don't keep it, we don't train on it, we don't share it. Period.
What we collect
- Contract content you upload or paste. Held in memory during analysis. Discarded immediately after the response is returned to you. Not stored. Not logged.
- Usage telemetry: which pages were visited and rough response times. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool with no cookies and no cross-site tracking. No third-party ad pixels.
- Server logs: IP address, user agent, error stack traces. Retained thirty days for abuse prevention and debugging.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your contracts to train or fine-tune any model — ours or Anthropic's.
- We do not share contract content with third parties except the language-model provider (Anthropic) at the moment of analysis. Anthropic's own policy forbids training on API content.
- We do not run ad-tech, behavioral tracking, or social pixels on this site.
Subprocessors
To run FinePrint we use a small set of vendors. Each one is used only for the purpose listed:
- Anthropic — language-model API. Receives the contract text for the duration of the analysis call. Anthropic's policy forbids training on API content.
- A cloud host — runs the application servers.
- Plausible-style analytics — page-view counts, no cookies, no cross-site tracking.
Self-hosting
If you don't want our servers in the loop at all, the entire engine is open source (MIT). Run it on your own infrastructure with your own Anthropic key. None of your contracts ever touch our systems. See the GitHub repo.
Your rights
You can request a copy or deletion of any data we hold about you at any time. Email privacy@fineprintdoc.com. We will respond within 14 days. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA. We honor them all.
Security
Data in transit: TLS 1.2+. Data at rest (Pro/Enterprise only): AES-256. Access to production data is limited to the founding team via short-lived, audited sessions. We do not claim to be a SOC 2-certified cloud — we are a small team being honest about what we run.
Children
FinePrint is not directed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
We will post any meaningful change to this page at least 14 days before it takes effect, with a summary at the top. We will not retroactively apply a weaker policy to data already collected.
